Wesson, Burlingame qualify for All-State Choir

BHS studnents sophomore Riley Wesson and junior Jacob Burlingame both qualified for this 2012-2013 Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir after competing last weekend in Midway.On Saturday Jan. 12, members from the BHS choral department competed at Midway High School for membership into the 2012-2013 Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir.
Those who qualified for this year's All-State Choir are:
Riley Wesson, sophomore, 1st chair in the Tenor 1 section of the All-State Men's Choir. He is the son of David and Bekie Wesson, sings with BHS Madrigal and A cappella choir and studies private voice with Lisa Clement from UMHB; and Jacob Burlingame, junior, 1st alternate in Bass 2 section of the All-State Men's Choir. He is the son of Cindy Burlingame, sings with the BHS Madrigal and A cappella choir and studies private voice with Glenn Beals from Waco.
Students that qualified for this final round of auditions included seniors: John Goodridge, Grace Hutchinson, Lynette Puckett and Melissa Montgomery; junior Jacob Burlingame; sophomore Riley Wesson and freshman Megan Taylor. These students competed against students from Central Texas high schools, plus schools from South Dallas and North Houston.
All-State members will attend the TMEA Convention in San Antonio from Feb. 13 thru 16. They will perform in the San Antonio Convention Center on Saturday, Feb. 16.
