Obituaries

Carlton Smith

Funeral services for Carlton Smith, 82, of Belton, will be held 2 p.m. Fri., Jan. 18, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Dr. Ramiro Pena officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Cemetery. Visitation will be held, Thurs., Jan. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dossman Funeral Home. Carlton died Sun., Jan. 13, in Belton.

He was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Bell County, the son of Arthur P. Smith and Minnie May (Bishop) Smith. He married Lela Beth Smith, May 17, 1963, who later passed away in 1998, then in 2004 he married Mildred Adell (House) Smith. He has lived in the area his whole life and worked as a Painter. He enjoyed spending his time playing dominos at the VFW and loved to tell stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lela Beth Smith; three brothers, John Arthur and Pid Smith; and three sisters, Mary Moore, Dorothy Guthrie, and Clara Smith.

Survivors include his second wife, Mildred Smith; one son, Ronald Marshall Jackson; one daughter, Carla Wohlfort; one sister, Margaret Petty; seven grandchildren, David Jackson, Traci Jackson, April Shepherd, Jason Jackson, Wil Jackson, T.J. Waldburger, Allyson Waldburger; and 10 great grandchildren.
