Belton local provides one-stop insurance
Thursday, 31 January 2013 by Grayson Edds
Belton local Josh Tubbs is proud to offer the citizens of Belton and the surrounding communities another option for insurance. His Farmer's Insurance agency is located at 400 E. 6th Ave. in Belton, and offers a variety of insurance options including home, auto, life, rental, and even health and Medicare.
"I started in insurance in 2008," Tubbs said. "In North Carolina I owned a health and life insurance brokerage until late 2009."
He returned then to Belton to be closer to his family and his roots. His father and grandmother both graduated from Belton High, as did he in 1999. Tubbs can still be seen on the BHS Athletic Wall of Honor.
"I always wanted to come back here because I love it here," he said. "I had a blast growing up here. I think it's great for families, great schools, great people, so I wanted to come back and be a part of that."
Josh TubbsWhen he returned back to the insurance business, he found that Farmer's Insurance was the best option for him.
"I started with Farmer's back in July of 2012," he said. "We needed a territory to open. We are all our own business owners, but we all go by Farmer's policies. It's a great small business opportunity."
On top of his dedication and love for Belton, the primary difference between Tubbs's agency and other insurance agencies is his ability to offer health and Medicare insurance.
"I love my city. I'm from here. Part of the reason I came back is because I like doing business with people I know," he said. "I like the small town feel where we all know each other. I'm one of the few agents who also do health and Medicare, because I kept my licenses from when I owned the brokerage (company). Nobody really does health and Medicare. You always have to call an 800 number and talk to somebody over the phone or a door-to-door salesman is going to come see you or something like that. But the main reason is that I want to be a beacon in the community."
Not only does Tubbs believe in Belton, but he also believes in his product.
"Anybody can come and see me," he said. "There's no obligation to buy from me. I'll do a review for free. I just believe that my products are good enough to stand alone and if you want to buy from me, you can."
