Belton Lions Club raises funds for new playground

The Belton Lions Club is raising funds for playground equipment for special needs children. Total cost of the project is $72,000 and will be constructed in two phases. The equipment will be used in Chisholm Trail Park in Belton.

"There was talk in our club that we hadn't tackled a major project in awhile," said Lions member Dick Weaver. "The playground equipment needs was determined by the city in Long-range planning. There will be ramps for wheel chairs and even a wheel chair swing. The equipment can be used by handicapped children and children without disabilities. We want them to play on the equipment together. This project will honor Dr. Will Long."

The Belton Lions Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Donations can be accepted by credit card or by check. Send donations to Belton Lions Club P.O. Box 2083 Belton, TX 76513.
