Delores Jean Prewitt

Funeral services for Delores Jean Prewitt, 72, of Belton were held at 2 p.m. Sat., Jan. 19, 2013, at Miller Heights Baptist Church in Belton with Rev. Billy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Mrs. Prewitt passed Monday at her home.
Jean was born to William F. and Edith Ruth (Brown) Brooks on Nov. 3, 1940, in Corbin, Kent. She married Thomas Kirby Prewitt, Jr. in Belton in 1959. Mrs. Prewitt did volunteer work with J.A.I.L. Ministries, Laura Mae's Closet and Helping Hands for many years. Jean was a receptionist for Heartfield Funeral Home. She was a lifetime bowler, recently with the Primetime Bowling League. Jean had been a member or Miller Heights Baptist Church since 1959.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Butch Lewis.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Kirby Prewitt III of Temple; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Prewitt Belinsky of Pflugerville, Debra Prewitt Handley of Belton; three brothers, Donald Brooks of Dayton, Ohio, Fred Hecker of Crab Orchard, Kent., Harold Lewis of Connorsville, Ind.; seven sisters, Joyce Borum of Morrow, Ohio, Billie Jones, Manchester, Kent., Linda Hutson of Murray, Kent., Brenda McLain of Murray, Kent., Diane Wilson of Wairsville, Fla., Sharon Finley of Sevierville, Tenn., Sherry Denise Routzohn of Sevierville, Tenn.; two grandchildren.
Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton was charge of arrangements.
