Central Ave. boutique becomes dress shop

dress-shopTrends and Treasures, located at 209 E. Central Ave., expanded their inventory to better suit community. A little store on Central Avenue, formerly an antique shop, but is now a fashion store. Trends and Treasures Boutique is a quaint little modern clothing store that opened as an antique store in 2009, but over the past 6-12 months has been transitioning into a clothing store.

Owner Irma Elser moved from Houston 13 years ago and decided to change the antique store over to a clothing store because it would be a better seller.

"Downtown Belton was lacking a modern clothing store. I guess my major goal is that it takes off and to bring more business to downtown Belton," Elser said.

With all the main shopping areas in Temple, Elser is hoping that more small businesses will appear in downtown Belton to help grow the city.

She said, "Belton is growing so we are trying to go with the flow. We are trying to bring what people are looking for."
