Belltec Industry expands in Belton

A Belltec Industries employee works a piece of machinery at the plant’s manufacturing facility.Founded in 1988 by Clyde Jones and his two sons, Donny and David, Belltec Industries began to manufacture and market a unique, patented down pressure posthole digger.
Since then, the company has come a long way, and they've continued to keep their business in Belton. And this year, they've expanded yet again. They've added an additional 4,500 square feet to their facility located in Belton's at 2057 Commerce Street.
Since their modest days of posthole diggers, they've expanded into other types of hole drilling equipment such as hydraulic drive attachments for skid steer loaders, backhoes and excavators, along with augers to drill rock and the hardest dirt. Their equipment still ranges from standard post-digging equipment, but now ranges to augers up to 11-and-a-half feet in circumference, mud buckets to draw out moisture, core barrels.
"This time last year that we started getting into all the medium duty, industrial utility market where you start getting up to six foot, seven, eight foot augers," he said.
With the latest growth of their company, the additional square footage allows them to increase the amount of product that they're able to make and store including a variety of finished and unfinished parts. They're also adding a new paint booth.
Even though they began to break further into the production of medium-duty augers, the majority of their work revolves around light duty, smaller diameter augers.
"The last three years have been high growth for us," Jones said. "And this year is expected to be another high growth year."
Jones attributes the recent spike in growth to the high quality of his products.
"We don't want to be the biggest, but we want to be the best," he said. "We want to be the best in our market. And now with these new tools, we're taking on a new market. So our volume is increasing, and we're also getting into component sales: parts we bring in and then turn around and ship back out. Our focus of our production is increasing, but the parts that we want to supply to other people is expected to really grow. So some of this expansion we had to do is to free up warehouse space."
The addition has already been added on to the main frame of the Belltec building with final touches being added. The completion of this expansion is expected to be complete in the next couple of months.
