BISD announces recommended boundaries

The Belton ISD Administration will make a recommendation regarding elementary attendance boundaries to the BISD Board of Trustees at its regular meeting on February 18, 2013.

Following extensive consideration by the Attendance Boundaries Committee and additional input received at two Public Forums held on January 22 and 24, the Administration has published a Recommended Elementary Attendance Boundaries map. The map can be found on the District's website, www.bisd.net.

New attendance boundaries will be implemented in the fall of 2013 for Lakewood Elementary, Pirtle Elementary, Tarver Elementary, and the new High Point Elementary. New attendance zones for Sparta Elementary, Leon Heights Elementary, Miller Heights Elementary, Southwest Elementary, and the new Chisholm Trail Elementary would go into effect beginning in the fall of 2014.

Dr. Susan Kincannon, BISD Superintendent, said, "New elementary attendance boundaries are necessary due to the continued growth of our school district. We are pleased with the community's involvement in the process and look forward to the Board making a decision on February 18."
