BISD releases transfer request timeline

In preparation for the opening of Belton ISD's newest campus, High Point Elementary, in August of 2013, the BISD Board of Trustees approved new attendance boundaries for the 2013-2014 school year at the February 18, 2013, regular Board meeting.
To facilitate a smooth transition, BISD has revised the timeline for requesting transfers for students impacted by the change in elementary boundaries so that district and campus leaders can make necessary adjustments to personnel.
A map of elementary campuses impacted may be accessed on the BISD web site: www.bisd.net. Campuses include Lakewood Elementary, Pirtle Elementary, Tarver Elementary, and the new High Point Elementary.
The revised timeline for the elementary campuses affected by the boundaries is as follows:
• February 25, 2013 – First day parents may submit transfer requests
• March 15, 2013 – Last day to submit transfer requests
• April 19, 2013 – Letters will be mailed to parents with campus assignments
All transfer requests must be submitted in writing at the BISD Administration building, 400 N. Wall Street in Belton. Transfer request forms are available to be picked up from the BISD Administration building.
All other transfer requests will be accepted April 15 through June 15.
