SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor softball team took the field at the Louisiana College Tournament, played at Centenary University in Shreveport instead of the confines of Louisiana College in Pineville because of the inclement weather that hit the Pineville-area on the first day of the tournament.

The Lady Cru split the first day of play at the Louisiana College Tournament, defeating LeTourneau 5-4 and falling to Louisiana College 3-0. On day two, UMHB completed the sweep of LeTourneau 5-3 and gained the split with Louisiana College 11-3. The Cru improved to 3-3 on the season.

The Cru will return to action next weekend at the American Southwest Conference First Pitch Tournament in Farmers Branch, Texas. The Lady Cru will open the tournament against Mississippi College at 12:30 on Friday.

Mary Hardin-Baylor senior infielder Caitlin Bollier (Kerrville, Texas / Tivy HS) went 5-for-10 with a grand slam, double and six RBIs to fuel a 3-1 showing at the Louisiana College Round Robin in Shreveport, La. Bollier's grand slam was of the walk-off fashion, providing an 11-3 victory over Louisiana College in six innings. She also scored three runs, walked once and did not strike out.
