Tuesday, 19 March 2013 by Keith Bahlmann
The 2nd Annual Belton's Got Talent! Talent show and contest was a huge success. The three judges had a tough time choosing between 30 talented acts with Belton High School students performing a wide variety of songs, dances, and instrumental classical pieces.
The 1st place prize went to a quartet called "The FOURce", Jacob Burlingame, Joey Kincaid, Riley Wesson, and Brandon Kemp.
2nd place prize went to "With Love", a group of three students, Phillip Trotter, Gabby Gutierrez, and Elijah Garza.
3rd place was won by "Vita" with band members Laith Wahb, Angel Mercado, Brian Schetat, and Quincy Blackmon.
Two creative BHS theater students acted as Emcees for the show, Kevin Hauger and Mary Hinza. Wolf Mahler and One Vs All opened and closed the show.
The audience showed their appreciation of One Vs All's original music.
This band just won a contest as The Best Under 21 Band in the Austin area sponsored by Channel 7.
The talent show was sponsored by the Parents of Choir to raise funds for college scholarships. The POC appreciates the community showing support for these talented students.
