Jake’s offers wide variety

Restaurant co-owner Amy Cheung attributes the success of the business to the staff's commitment to excellence and to the loyalty of Belton customers.

"We have loyal customers that want to see our business thrive and we are grateful for their support, Cheung said.

Cheung said that the restaurant had developed a reputation with customers from as far as Houston, as they would ensure that they always stopped at the buffet for some Chinese food whenever they passed through Belton.

Jake's Chinese Buffet serves more than 50 different, savory food items on their menu and each flavor used is different.

"No two sauces are the same," Cheung said. "We make our own homemade sauce and we make certain that our food is always fresh."

The coconut shrimp, spinach casserole, cocktail shrimp, hot and sour soups and freshly grilled rib eye were described by Cheung as the buffet's "signature dishes" that were very popular with customers.

Cheung and her husband, opened the restaurant seven years ago after relocating from New York.

After making numerous stops in various small towns they decided that Belton would be the ideal place to live and to open a business.

"Belton is unique and very friendly," Cheung said. "And that has made it easier to manage our business. We definitely enjoy serving this community."

Jake's recently expanded their parking lot for the convenience of customers and the management team is always looking to further grow and improve.

The restaurant is renowned for having quality service and delicious meals at an affordable price.

The hours of business are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9.30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. until 10p.m., and from 11a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sundays.
