Effie J. Casey Geisselbrecht Montgomery

Effie J. Casey Geisselbrecht Montgomery, 82, of Harker Heights died Oct. 18 in an area hospital. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at Faith Temple in Killeen with the Rev. Bob Miller, the Rev. Scott Hoxworth, the Rev. Randy Binion and the Rev. John Abbey from Bethal Church in Killeen officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery on I35 south of Belton.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Nov. 9, 1928 in Post to Hillard Judge and Effie Jo (Bruton) Casey. She was married twice, first to Lefty Geisselbrecht who died in the 1960s, then to Marvin Montgomery Feb.14, 2010. Her marriage to Marvin included a daughter, Pam Pugh and son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Barbara Montgomery. She had been an operator for Southwestern Bell for 34 years. She was a mentor, teacher, and spiritual leader to many. Among those were Donna Mullins of Harker Heights who cared for her until her demise. She had attended the Bethel Church in Killeen.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert Casey and Ernest L.Casey, four sisters, Gertie Casey Reno, Dovie Casey Leonard, Jimmie Casey Clem Bailey and Gwen Casey Scott, and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her son, Fred Montgomery of Orange, one daughter, Pam Pugh of Orange, one brother, Hillard Judge Casey of Waco, two sisters,
Christine Casey Sellers of Belton and Bonnie Casey Williams of Waco, one granddaughter, one grandson, and four great-grandchildren.
Heartfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
