Renowned author speaks to children at BCYC

Author Debbie Reece works with children at the Belton Christian Youth Center last week.Author, Debbie Reece, and owner of BeeBop Books, was in town last week for a book signing at the Silo Tree Farm and stopped by the Belton Christian Youth Center last Friday for a reading and signing of her children's book, The Christmas Pumpkin, which released from BeeBop Books in 2009.
More than 5,000 copies of this popular children's book have sold and the book is now available on Amazon.com. It is also coming soon to Barnes & Noble! After its release in 2009, The Christmas Pumpkin sold over 2400 copies in the first six months and was selected for the Dove Family Approved Seal.
The Christmas Pumpkin won first place in the Press Women of Texas Communications Award for a children's fiction book, and it won third place in the NFPW communications contest. It also won a top 2nd Finalist for the 2011 North Texas Book Festival Book Award in the children's book category.
"Debbie Reece is a gracious author and wonderful speaker. The children at BCYC enjoyed her visit and felt honored to have a star in our midst," said Diana Moore, BCYC's Public Relations & Development Director.
Cheryl Caballero, BCYC Activities Director, added, "All the kids want to have a Christmas pumpkin now — it's no longer just a fall tradition."
