BHS Marching 100 Band, choir compete at contests
Thursday, 10 November 2011 by Keith Bahlmann
The Belton High School Marching 100 placed seventh out of 16 schools in the finals competition at the Desoto Marching Classic Competition on Oct. 8. The color guard received sixth place both on the field and at the indoor competition, and the drum line placed second on the field and third at the indoor competition.
The Desoto Marching Classic Competition is in its 24th year. Many high school marching bands from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, along with some cities farther away, come to compete for their place as best band all around. The main attraction of the contest is a full marching band competition where bands perform marching shows they have been preparing since the summer.
The Marching 100 also competed in the UIL Region Marching Band Contest that was held at Waco Stadium on Oct. 22 and received straight I's from the judges.
