BHS students compete at auditions

Members from the Belton High Choral Dept. competed in the second round of the Texas Music Educator's Assoc. All-State Choir auditions at Midway High School on Saturday, Nov. 5. Choir students from Region 8 high schools gathered to vie for selection to the "Pre-area" round of All-State Choir audition. Students auditioning included: Sarah Jennings, Morgan Hollingsworth, Lynette Puckett, Melissa Montgomery, Sean Clark, John Goodridge and Jacob Burlingame. Results are as follows:
Alto 1 – Melissa Montgomery 3rd chair
Alto 1 – Lynette Puckett 1st alternate
Tenor 2 – Sean Clark 1st chair
Bass 2 – Jacob Burlingame 5th chair
Each of these finalists will compete at the final round of auditions on January 7 at Midway high school.
Other students that earned membership in the Region 8 All-Region Choir include: Grace Hutchinson, Brooke Haugeberg, Roxanne Bodkin and Chaz Corder. They will be joined with the 9/10 All-Region choir members on the same concert.
Freshmen and Sophomores auditioning for the 9/10 All-Region choir on Saturday 11/5/11 included: Christine Arellano, Mayra Bernardino, Kristen Bouvier, Angelique Butler, Emily Cheek, Macie Matamoros, Marissa Monroy, Tess Rudasill, Emma Soard, Kayla Sohns, Kailah Vaughn, Adam Anderson, Brandon Kemp, Joey Kincaid, Connor Leigh, Kristopher Thompson, Riley Wesson and Brentyn Young. Results are as follows:
Soprano 1 – Christine Arrellano 1st chair
Alto 1 – Kayla Sohns 1st alternate
Tenor 1 – Riley Wesson 2nd chair
Tenor 1 – Connor Leigh 4th chair
Bass 1 – Joey Kincaid 13th chair
All the auditioning BHS students earning membership will participated in the 2011-12 Texas Music Educators' Association Region VIII All-Region Choir concert at Baylor University in Waco, on November 12, at 5 p.m..
