Join the City of Belton for Christmas on the Chisholm Trail
Monday, 05 December 2011 by Keith Bahlmann
Join the City of Belton for a fun start to the Christmas season by celebrating on the Chisholm Trail in historic Yettie Polk Park from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 10.
This fun-filled annual event features specialty crafts, flavorful foods and festive entertainment surrounded by twinkling lights, holiday fare and of course Santa Claus!
Sit back and enjoy sounds of the season with live musical entertainment from Belton school choirs, church choirs, musical ensembles and other featured performers. Voices will ring out from Santa's Wonderland area and the beautifully lit gazebo in the park.
Only a snowball's throw away will be some of the most delicious holiday tastes available. Take time out for a juicy turkey leg, hot dogs, hamburgers and BBQ. Or spice up the night with a Frito chili pie and some nachos. And top it all off with a funnel cake and a cup of hot chocolate.
Stroll around with the kids for an evening full of fun. The Friends of the Lena Armstrong Library will host a book giveaway to each child. Visit the Fire and Police Department displays and meet "Badge," the BPD mascot.
Kids can also enjoy the pony rides, petting zoo and inflatable fun.
Santa and his elves will arrive at the park at 6 p.m.
It will be a night filled with holiday spirit and fun for the entire family.
Vendors for the event are still welcome, but space is limited.
