BISD students honored

Mrs. Ledbetter, Commander Charles Cooper, Emily Del Real and Jerry Simpson.The PALS from Lake Belton Middle School wrote an essay honoring veterans for the Veterans of the Foreign Wars Post 10377 and Ladies Auxiliary. The topic was "Are you proud of your country?" Emily Del Real and Frace Oyenubi were honored by the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary for their "Youth Essay Award Citation" on Dec. 9 in Temple.
Mrs. Ledbetter, Grace Oyenubi, Commander Charles Cooper and Jerry Simpson.They both received a certificate and $150. Emily's and Grace's families and adivsor Vicki Street were present for the presentation. Street was also recognized by the VFW as the National Citizenship Education Teacher Post Recognition Award for the year for promoting citizenship education in the classroom and school. Street was awarded a certificate and $250.
