Belton Middle School Basketball

The BMS 7A basketball team took third place at the South Belton Middle School Tournament.Belton Middle School Boys
The BMS 7A basketball team are now 8-3 on the season. Coach Jeff Hammond reports the team finished third at the recent SBMS tournament.
Results so far this season include:
BMS 37, Travis 21
Zach Rumfield was leading scorer with 12 points. Others included: Tyler Kastner-7, Carson Hammond and Davion Peoples-6 apiece, Hunter Garrett-4, Reagan Chapman-2.
BMS 32, Academy 27
Peoples led scoring with 10; Hammond-8, Rumfield-6, Kastner-4, Chapman and Phoenix Phillips-2 each.
BMS 51, SBMS 17
Peoples scored 16; Kastner-10, Rumfield-9, Hammond and Canaan Jones-6 apiece, Phillips and Chapman-2 eachj.
Bonham 42, BMS 28
This pair of BMS sharp-shooters won individual competition at the SBMS Tournament. Carson Hammond was the 3-point shooting Champion and Tyler Kastner won the Free Throw Championship.Rumfield led scoring with 14; Hammond-6, Peoples-4, Chapman and Kastner-2 each.

Hammond led with 17 points; Peoples-15, Rumfield-9, Phillips-2.
LBMS 33, BMS 25
Rumfield-6, Kastner and Garrett-5 apiece, CJ Jones-4, Peoples and John Taggart-2 each.
BMS 48, Lee 26
Peoples scored 14 points; Kastner-8, Garrett-5, Hammond-4, Phillips-2.
Lamar 44, BMS 40
Peoples-12, Hammond-11, Kastner and Chapman-7 each, Taggert-2, Runmfield-1.
BMS 54, SBMS 7
Peoples exploded with 24; Hammond-10, Chapman and Rumfield-6 apiece, Garrett-4, Phillips and Kastner-2 each.
BMS 57, Cove 39
Hammond scored 10, Kastner and Peoples-7 each, Garrett-6, Chapman-4, Taggart-3, Phillips-2.
BMS 30, Bonham 22
Hammond, Kastner and Peoples each scored 7 points, Rumfield-5, Garrett-4, Chapman-1.
South Belton Middle School Girls
Lake Belton defeated the SBMS 8th grade 41-15 in district action. South Belton's Sullivan Strohmeyer, Monica Perez and Sarah Martinez all scored in the contest.
Both of the SBMS 7th grade teams posted wins over their LBMS opponents.
The "B" team won 16-8. All the girls played hard and Krysten Zittel scored 8 points and Cameron Kasberg had 6.
The South Belton "A" team defeated LBMS 34-9, using great rebounding and passing that lead to the victory. Leading scorers were: Hannah Gober and Hannah martin, each with 10 points, followed by Kaylee Moon and Ashley Stanfield, who each had 4 points.
