Middle School B-ball

BMS

Belton Middle School coach Jeff Hammond's boys went one-for-two in a pair of basketball games.

The 7A edged Cove in a tight battle 44-42.

Davion Peoples posted 15-points to lead the scoring. Zach Rumfield had 9; Carson Hammond followed with 8; Tyler Kastner, Hunter Garrett and Reagan Chapman each scored 4.

The BMS 7A team played Lamar and fell in a close game 52-44.

Carson Hammond had a huge evening with a team-high17 points. Peoples turned in 12; Rumfield and Garrett each got 5; Kastner and Chapman had 2 apiece; and Phoenix Phillips added one point.

SBMS

The 7th grade girls won a pair of games against Lamar.

The 7B team won 24-6 in a team effort. Leading scorers with four points each were Ashtyn Smith-Schmucker, Erica Lymon, Jamecia Houston and Krystn Zittle.

The 7A girls blasted Lamar 38-3. Leading scorers were Caroline Stegall 8; Hannah Martin 7; Hannah Gober 6; Destenee Winkler 5; and Kaylee Moon and Ashley Stanfield, 4 points each.

"I'm very proud of both teams," commented coach Whitney Landers. "They both had an outstanding season."

The SBMS 8th grade lost their final game to Lamar 32-6. Sarah Martinez scored all six of her team's points.
