Obituaries

Cecil Vaughn Ellis

Cecil Vaughn Ellis, 74, of Salado died Feb. 3 in an area hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Salado Church of Christ, with burial in the Salado Cemetery. Joe Keyes and Steve English will conduct the services.

Mr. Ellis was born May 18, 1937 in Youngsport to Rube and Myrtle Jackson Ellis. He served as a Military Police officer in the US Army from 1960-62 and was a member of the Texas National Guard for several years. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Wilson Art for 20 years, retiring in 1992.

He married Linda Berry in Temple June 2, 1960. He was a member of the Salado Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard Ellis and W.P. Ellis, and two sisters, Ollie Phillip and Ruby Lindsey.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Salado; two sons, Kevin Ellis of Salado and Danny Ellis of Redlands, Calif., one daughter, Kathy Wilhite of Salado; one brother, Jerry Don Ellis of Temple and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salado Church of Christ.

Heartfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
