The First Presbyterian Church Women have been busy with mission projects in the past year. In October, they held a Family Night fundraiser for Mason Hood, a church member from Florence. Enough money was raised to send Hood on his school field trip this summer. The participants will tour Boston for a week. Donations of $500 were give to the Bastrop Fire Relief Fund and after Thanksgiving, the church "No Turkey Lunchables" proved a successful endeavor. With the funds, the women cut, sewed and stuffed more than 200 hearts, which they donated to Scott & White for recovering heart patients. The First Presbyterian Church Women invite any women with willing hands and a compassionate heart to join them for fellowship. Contact the church at (254) 939-2115.
