Weir joins BACC team

The Belton Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed a new member to the team.Belton native, Jennifer Weir was hired as the BACC's Director of Member Relations and Business Marketing.
Weir, who has lived in Belton all her life, said she knows the area well.
"I'm born and raised here in Belton and both my husband and I graduated from Belton High School," Weir said. "Both of my kids are in the Belton Independent School District as well."
Before coming to the BACC, Weir gained her experience in hotel management, marketing and IT solutions.
"A few years ago, I worked at UMHB in their IT department and from there I was the director of sales and marketing for the Holiday Inn Express in Salado," Weir said.
Weir was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Salado Chamber of Commerce and the Salado Tourism Committee.
Weir said she was happy to be a part of the BACC team.
"It was something that I couldn't turn down because I have a career path that I'm trying to get to and I know this is another step that I need to be at," Weir said. "I feel like there is a really good purpose that I'm here."
Along with helping with updating the BACC website, Weir said she is planning on setting up classes for businesses that can help employers market their businesses.
"With every business, you have to have sales in order for your business to grow," Weir said. "I'm passionate about sales and Belton."
Weir and her husband, Clay, have two children, Lauren and Caden.
Weir said she is excited about the opportunity to make a difference in her home town.
"With working in Salado, I got to know a lot of people because they (Belton and Salado) are sister cities," Weir said. "It's going to help tremendously because it's all about who you know."
