BISD summer camps underway for youth

The summer has arrived, and Belton ISD’s summer sports camps are underway. Conducted by head coaches and their assistants, the series of camps offers local athletes opportunities to learn, have fun and interact with varsity instructors.


Beginning on Monday, Belton will conduct a threeday baseball camp. It is open to all second through ninth graders and runs for three hours each day, starting at 9 a.m.


The Tigers boys basketball camp for sixth- through ninth-graders runs on the same days from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.


A second boys basketball camp for first through fifth graders is set to start June 23. The three-day camp is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.


Also on Monday, Lake Belton will begin three-day camps for tennis, baseball and girls basketball. The tennis camp is open to boys and girls in seventh through ninth grade from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each day, while baseball goes from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is open to second through sixth graders.


The girls basketball camp is broken into two sessions with first- through fifthgraders attending from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, while sixth- through ninthgraders are scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.


The three-day Lady Tigers basketball camp begins June 3 with third- through ninth-graders participating. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. On June 9, the Belton boys soccer camp opens. It is set to run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for three days with third through ninth-graders attending.


Softball camp for third through ninth-graders takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on the same days. At Lake Belton, boys basketball camp begins for all third- through ninth-graders and runs from noon to 2:30 p.m.


Belton’s volleyball camp runs June 16 to June 18 with two sessions each day. Third through sixth graders will take part from 10 a.m. to noon, while seventh , eighth and ninth graders attend from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.


In July, the Lady Tigers soccer camp and a cheer camp will take place along with Lake Belton’s volleyball, softball and football camps.


The girls soccer camp is broken into two sessions with both being conducted from July 21 to July 23. Second through sixth graders come from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and seventh through ninth graders are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cheer camp is available to anyone in kindergarten through sixth grade from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and it will run from July 23 to July 25.


The Lady Broncos volleyball camp will take part in sessions. The first session starts July 7 for third and fourth graders (noon-2:30 p.m.) with the second following for fifth and sixth graders (2:30 p.m.-5 p.m.). Then, on July 14, seventh graders (noon-2:30 p.m.) and eight and ninth graders (2:30 p.m.-5 p.m.) attend.


Lake Belton’s softball camp is open to third through ninth graders and runs from 9 a.m. t0 11:30 a.m. beginning 28, when the Broncos football camp also starts.
K i n d e r g a r t e n e r s through sixth graders and seventh through ninth graders will take part in different sessions, but both run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day.
