Margaret A. Boecher

May 30, 1938 – October 8, 2025

Margaret A. Boecher, age 87, of Dayton and formerly of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Centerville Post Acute.

Margaret was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. Upon graduation, she earned her nursing degree. She was an LPN in doctors’ offices for ten years, working in both Southern California and Texas. When she was younger, she was a hairdresser. In addition, she also owned a grooming station for pets and bred poodles.

From a very young age, she was an independent female and ahead of the times. She would create beautiful stained-glass artwork. She was very talented in quilting and crocheting, and her favorite pieces to make were intricate lace doilies. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables.

As an avid reader, she was drawn to the spooky and vampire books, especially anything written by her favorite author, Patricia Cornwell. Her passion was spending time with her husband, and she cherished their many memories of the two of them fishing.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Boecher; her daughter, Adrienne Lee Coker; her parents, Edward and Rhea Gamache; and one sister, Jeanne Ledger.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Roger) West; three grandchildren, Cady (Derek) Vance, Zachary (Josclynn) Henthorn, and Jared (Melissa) Gunn; four great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Nolan, Mason, and Tyler; three brothers, Donald Gamache, Jerrold “Jerry” (Kathy) Gamache, and Kenny (Carol) Gamache; and two sisters, Diane Murawski and Claire Hannah.
