Downtown businesses open for Market Days on Saturday

Market Days is a Belton Tradition dating back to 2010.

This weekend in downtown Belton Market Days will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There are 101 vendors signed up for this Saturday's event.

Live music will be provided by Michael Mohler, Jay White and Martian Folk. An area food court will be available.

Area restaurants and local merchants will be open for business.

This event brings an extra number of visitors downtown. It is a big day for tourists and shopping in Belton.

Eight volunteers work at the event. Market Days is a product of the work of the Downtown Belton Business Alliance.

There will be a variety of booths with wares for sale including a local farmer with meats and eggs, local honey, food trucks, skincare, a large variety of artists, toys, leather crafts, ice cream, children’s clothing, and saddles.

“If you would like to support the DBBA organization, visit downtownbelton.com,” said DBBA President Leila Valchar.

“We are drawing vendors from all across Texas. We released the vendor application in mid-January and filled it up by March 1st. We had to create a waiting list. The list is over 40 vendors long. We are excited about the new vendors we have this year. The November Market Days is full. This weekend will be great.”

The DDBA sponsors the Candy Trail and Christmas on the Chisholm trail, as well as organizes Market Days.

“Having a big sponsor of Market Days would be nice. We have asked for support in the past. More people involved in Market Days would be nice,” said Valchar.
