Ellis joins Broncos Volleyball, girls Basketball staff

The Lake Belton Broncos have added a coach to the staff that has plenty of sports knowledge on the court, as well as a wealth of

academic knowledge away from it.



Renaldo Ellis joined Lake Belton High school on June 26 as the new volleyball assistant coach under Allison Waits and new girls’ basketball coach under Tiffney Barnes.

Ellis spent two stints in Temple ISD, the first from 2012 to 2020 and second from 2022 to 2025. Between 2020 and 2022, he was the head coach of girls’ basketball at Rosebud-Lott High School.

Ellis has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of North Texas in 2011. He added a Master of Science degree in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management from Southeastern Oklahoma University in 2023.

Ellis was a Texas High School Coaches Association R.O.C.K. Mentor in the 2024-2025 school year and is a THSCA R.O.C.K. Brand Ambassador this upcoming school year.

“I am officially a Bronco,” Ellis said. “It is time to work!”
