Charles Alois Fuchs

Funeral services for Charles Alois Fuchs, 89, of Salado, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton. A private burial followed.
The family received friends for visitation 1–3 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the funeral home.
Mr. Fuchs died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in a local rehabilitation center.
Mr. Fuchs was born September 24, 1935, in Westphalia, the son of George Theodore Fuchs and Mary Ola (Keeton) Fuchs. He married Billie Jean Fant on October 27, 1956, in Temple at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mr. Fuchs served honorably in the National Guard for a few years before working as a truck driver for Pepsi Cola. Later, he owned and operated Charlie’s Used Cars in Belton. In the 1950s and 1960s, he owned drag race cars and enjoyed drag racing at local race tracks. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Salado. In his retirement, he owned an exotic ranch where he raised Black Buck Antelope and Elk.
He was preceded in death by one son, William “Billy” Fuchs, and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Billie Jean Fuchs; one son, Michael Fuchs; three daughters, Charlotte Frieden, Merry Kellough, and Barbara Clay; one brother, Leroy Fuchs; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
