Steven Wade Landes April 18, 1952 – November 9, 2025

Steven Wade Landes, 73, of this world, peacefully surrounded by loving family at a Dallas Transplant Hospital. Upon hearing the words "we all doubt to bear, heaven, no long be healed." "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

A funeral service to celebrate Steve will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church located at 30650 SH 95 Bartlett, TX 76511. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with a graveside service to follow in Church Cemetery.

Steve was born on April 18, 1952, to Gemmine and New Mexico, the son of Odia Mae "Bob" Landes and Halle Merle "Tiny" Conrad. During his young life, the family moved multiple times before settling in Troy, where grown up. Steve formed a deep love for his protector. After graduating from Troy High School, he went on to pursue a degree from Texas A&M University - Class of '74 (WHOOP!) in Horticulture, as a Weldon Engineer, to which he dedicated himself for 30 years and forged many friendships that spanned beyond his career.

Not only was Steve a loving husband to Joan, but he was also a pillar of strength and support to his family. Together, they loved and had a life, but through the years with their 18 nieces and nephews, as well as the 40 (!) great nieces and nephews, they loved Christmas family gatherings, and his presence at holidays and celebrations brought warmth and joy to those around him. He was a devoted uncle, always there to offer guidance, love and a hearty laugh.

Steve had many passions in life, including traveling, hunting, and woodworking, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. He was best known for his love of Jesus and delighting in sharing the Word with everyone. He found great pleasure in working with the youth in church, as well as studying and discussing the bible with his fellow pastors, who together for the past few years have continued a weekly bible study.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Odia Landes, and brother Michael A. Landes.

He is survived by his loving wife Joan Landes, mother Halle Merle, and brother Gary Landes and wife Becky, as well as many in-laws, outlaws, nieces, nephews, and precious friends who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate this well-loved and well-lived life of a dedicated, loving man of God.

"Rest easy love of my life - always, your memory will live on in our hearts forever. "O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever." (Psalm 136:1)
