Edna Christine Malcik, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6, 1934, to Rudolph and Justine Jurecek in Rogers, Texas, Edna spent her entire life rooted in the Rogers and Temple communities, working hard and nurturing those around her. She will be remembered with warmth, kindness, and laughter that she shared with all she encountered. Edna served with distinction in her retirement in 1992. Her life’s commitment to her work was as strong as her commitment to her family, showing balance with wisdom and determination. Edna was known for her “Happy Go Lucky” personality, and she approached life with a vibrance that was infectious. She found extraordinary joy in the company of her friends and family, having moved her heart and face to love of life. Born Ignac Malcik, whom she married in 1952. Together, they began their family and welcomed their son, Randall, in 1962. Well-known for an smile as bright as her animals was well-known, she and Frank raised Chinese Pugs that had many pets throughout their lifetime, each bringing unique joy and companionship. Edna also had a passion for family and compassion during cooking, often sharing her home with those around her, further reflecting her love of entertaining and family bonding. She is survived by her two brothers, Reuben Marek and Marvin Marek; and one grandson, Justin Malcik. Edna will be remembered for the warmth she brought into the lives lucky enough to have known her, and the love she expressed for her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Ignac Malcik; her parents Rudolph and Justine Jurecek.
