Belton shop owners schedule Galentine’s events for Feb. 7

Belton’s shops are planning Galentine’s events for Saturday, Feb. 7, a week before Valentine’s Day.
What is Galentine’s?
Galentine’s Day is a popular unofficial holiday typically celebrated before Valentine’s Day and is dedicated to honoring the friendships between women, or “gals,” with brunches, gifts, and quality time. It’s also been called a day for empowerment and showing appreciation for the support and love found in platonic friendships.
Candy’s Beauty Lounge is partnering with Nail’d Acrylics by Amy Lee to celebrate strong women and beautiful stories.
Their event will be at Tirzah, located at 115 N. East St. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and include access to vendors and activities and one free mimosa or mocktail.
“I am collaborating with Amy Lee to host a Galentine Soiree to give back to our loyal clients, bring women together, and support local women-owned businesses. There’s an online event on Facebook where people can purchase their tickets. I’m excited to partner with other women and community. It’s a fun way for people to meet and make new besties,” said Candy Abreu, owner of Candy’s Beauty Lounge.
Lee will be offering Apex press on nail tips to use for nail designing as an activity to enjoy with your gals. Alex brand is a thicker and more durable for reusable use up to three times, with proper removal. The activity will include how to create a Galentine design, how to package them, and will include a prepping kit with nail glue. The Apex tips will come in different lengths and shapes so you can choose what your heart desires.
“I will also teach press-on nail care: how to apply them and how to remove them. Everyone who participates in this activity will be entered into a drawing for a half-off customer press on nail set from me. All who attend this event can indulge in exclusive discounts for future press-ons and bookings with me,” said Lee.
Vendors include Easy Life Boutique with their charm bar and boutique items. 1524 Boutique will have $20 pick-and-press shirts, Troy Nutrition will have loaded teas, Luna Lylis Treats will offer baked goods, as will Lara’s Sweet Treats. Sweets by Jaz will have specialty chocolate covered treats, and Mandy’s Catering will serve Pink Tacos.
Activities include cakecicle decorating for $1 per cakecicle or 2 for $5, floral arrangements with one bouquet including four flowers for $5, candle making at $10 for small and $20 for large, press-on nail sets for $7, beauty express hair with an option for hair waving or curling and two tinsel strands for $20.
The Porch, located at 795 E. Central Avenue, will host Galentine’s with sweet treats and more. They are inviting girlfriends to come and treat themselves with chocolate fondue, mocktails, hair feathers, tiny tatts, mini facials, and permanent jewelry. Their event is from noon to 4 p.m.
“Mini facials are $40, tiny tatts are $25, hair feathers $5 for one of $20 for 5, permanent jewelry $5 off each, caricatures $15 a face, mocktails, and the chocolate fondue is free,” said Kim Earthman, Owner of the Porch.
