Five BISD players participate in 2025 FCA Victory Bowl Baseball game

The 2025 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl continued on Friday, as the Red team and Blue team battled it out at Red Murff Field on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

In the 11th installment of the Red-Blue series, the Blue team outlasted the Red team, 5-3.

Belton ISD had solid representation on the Red side, with Lake Belton’s Bryce Davis, Cameron Bartz, and Brandon Holley, and Belton’s Cole Heisler and Austin Wood. Reece Medrano (Temple), Joseph McMurtry and Troy Ketcham (Troy), Payton Hoelscher and Trent Hickerson (Riesel), Easton Vannatta (Crawford), Cooper Reaves and Jordan Wood (Harker Heights), Jeremiah Cunningham (Covington), Easton Rinewalt (West), Shaun Coleman (McGregor), and Brandon Klanika (Axtell) were also on the Red squad.

The Blue squad had plenty of local districts represented. David Litle, Charley Steen and Garrett Wiethorn (Midway), Brady Smedshammer and Caleb Carrizales (Lorena), Cooper Massar, Tavion Aguillon and Riley Hoelscher (Rogers), Ian Gomez (Meridian), Andrew Omo (Live Oak), Christian Lazarine and Simon Jarrett (Texas Wind), and Ryder King (Bosqueville) all represented their teams during the week.

There was plenty of good-natured chatter between the teams, with a ton of smiles and laughter.

“It was a long week, with having Bronco baseball camp and FCA, but it was worth it,” Lake Belton head coach Chris Peacock said, who was one of three coaches on the Red coaching staff. “The teams were able to share their testimonies with one another and serve the community was a blessing.”

“The baseball was fun. I have known several guys on both sides for years,” Davis said. “The entire week was fun and a blessing.”

“It was a very cool experience to play baseball with guys that have been friends for several years,” Heisler said. “We spend a lot of time with each other in the summer."
