The Lake Belton Broncos added a second member to their volleyball staff last week as they hired Dejon Griffin as a volleyball and track assistant coach. Griffin coached at Flint Hill High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She was also the head coach at West Monroe High School and coached club volleyball with Virginia Juniors Volleyball Club and Northeast Louisiana Volleyball Club. A Copperas Cove native, Griffin is a graduate of Copperas Cove High School and has one son, Baylor, who is 5. She will be teaching math at Lake Belton High School. Griffin was a member of the Northwestern State University track and field team and was a captain from 2009 – 2011. She is a school record holder in the hammer throw and the weight throw. She was a multi-sport athlete where she also played volleyball and was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for NSU. “I’m beyond thrilled to join the Lake Belton Broncos coaching staff! It’s an honor to be part of a program that stands for grit, heart, and unwavering commitment to excellence,” Griffin said. “Being a Bronco means leading with purpose, pushing through with passion, and showing up for our team and community with pride. It’s more than a mascot: it is a mindset. I cannot wait to get to work and ride together toward greatness.”
