Randall M. Lucas

Randall M. Lucas, age 77, passed away on October 15, 2025, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.

He was born on April 27, 1948, to Paul and Lousie (Morton) Lucas. He graduated from Belton High School in 1966. He served in the Army Band as a saxophone player. He finished his education at Mary-Hardin Baylor College in 1975 with a business degree. He opened Lucas Dental Lab, where he made crowns and bridges, working for local dentists. He played county music with friends from Moffat TX called Countrymen and The Renegades. He enjoyed traveling out West, finding fossils, seeing mountain views, and accompanying sons on snowboarding trips.

Randy retired to Flatonia, TX, where he practiced the piano. He is survived by his wife Janis; sons Paul and Jack; his three sisters, Sharon James, Shirley Meadows, and Kaki Strohl; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family are invited for a visitation at Smith Funeral Home, 128 East 5th Street, Flatonia, TX 78941 on October 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
