Editor’s Note: This is the first in an occasional series about products that are Made in Belton.
A Belton company that produces large sliding doors and windows is really shining with builders of custom, high-end homes.
Glass Expanse, located at 2600 Digby Drive in Belton, moved to Belton about four months ago.
“We were leasing property in Troy, but we were outgrowing our facility,” said Adam Conley, founder of Glass Expanse. “We were looking for land to build a new place, and Belton Economic Development Cor- poration helped us secure a location here.”
“It’s a great location — I live in Belton so it’s closer to home,” he added.
Conley said Glass Expanse manufactures premi- um patio sliding doors and windows using glass and aluminum.
“About 95 percent of our business is residential, but we also make sliding doors and windows for of- fices and restaurants,” he said.
In addition, Glass Expanse provided sliding windows for a wedding venue in Sherman and for the conference room at MRB Group in Temple.
Glass Expanse was founded in 2017 and based in Troy until we moved to Belton.
“At Glass Expanse, we make pre- mium, beautiful, custom slide-and- stack doors and windows in Texas that will expand your space and blow your mind,” Conley added.
”When I entered the door and win- dow industry, I was motivated to design a company focused on functionality and aesthetics,” he said. “I wanted to give the contractors and customers some- thing they would love to share with cli- ents, friends, and family.”
Conley said Glass Expanse sold di- rectly to builders and homeowners for seven years, but now the company sells its sliding doors and windows in Belton, at Lengefeld Lumber in Temple and at 21 other locations in Texas.
This month, though, that number will grow significantly. McCoy’s Building Supplies will begin carrying Glass Expanse doors and windows at 18 locations.
“We plan to expand,” he said. “I’d like to open locations across Texas and eventually across the Sun Belt.”
“As Glass Expanse grows, we hope to create products that are unique in function and form. We want to manufacture products that push boundaries and stand apart from the ordinary.”
For now, however, Conley and his 14 Belton employees will continue to fill the niche need for big sliding doors and windows.
