Residents Hilda Dale and Sharon Cipolla at Stoney Brook of Belton celebrate the facility’s 15th anniversary with an end-of-summer luau. Local seniors, caregivers, and members of the community were invited for a tropical happy hour.
“I liked the party very much. They had some entertainment from Gatesville,” said resident Hilda Dale.
“We had refreshments. I liked the chips and salsa. I hadn’t seen the performer before,” said resident Sharon Cipolla.
“I’ve been here six months. I’m excited to see the amazing full house turnout with family and friends of residents celebrating the end of summer luau. My favorite part is the residents reminiscing of their memories when they went to Hawaii and family vacations from the past,” said Stoney Brook of Belton Life Enrichment Director Trish Taggart.
Hawaiian sundaes were served: a slice of banana bread with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with toasted coconut, caramel sauce, and a cherry.
Residents were also served a Hawaiian lunch which included teriyaki chicken, coconut rice, and stir-fried vegetables with fresh fruit.
Samantha O’Neil, director of sales and marketing of Stoney Brook of Belton thanked everyone for coming out.
Some home health companies were on hand to visit residents. Rosa Hernandez and Marcie Conde with Enhabit Home Health brought the punch and helped serve.
“We provide home health and hospice. We help with what they need with healthcare and special events,” said Hernandez and Conde.
Pam Krumnow with Aspen brought popcorn and ham and cheese cups, refreshments, and helped set up.
“I come out and get the privilege to help Trish with activities once a month like fun trivia games and music to soothe the soul,” said Krumnow.
Kim Dipple and Jana Chepulis with Tex Med Home Health also helped.
