105th annual Armstrong Halloween Carnival
October 16, 2025
Special to the Journal
The 105th annual Halloween Carnival will be on Saturday, Oct. 18, starting at 5 p.m. at the Armstrong Community Center in Belton.
The historic Armstrong Community Center is vital to the community and is used for community meetings, family reunions, organizational events, and as a voting place.
This annual fundraiser has been used to support the Center for over 105 years, and has enabled the Historic Armstrong building to serve the community since 1915.
The Annual Halloween Carnival and Bingo is open to all community members. Parking and entrance are free with activities and games for all ages.
There will be Bingo for prizes, both Silent and Live Auctions, a Cake Walk, a kids costume contest, train rides, a bounce house, carnival games and prizes, horse rides, and more. BBQ sandwiches, sausage wraps, and desserts will be available for purchase.
The old red brick Armstrong School on Armstrong Road has stood the test of time. Built in 1915, it served as one of Bell County’s premier schools until the 1957-58 school year. It operates today as the Armstrong Community Center and hosts everything from family reunions to meetings to weddings. It’s not a school anymore, but it still serves as a focal point of the community.
Some of those who attended the school over 80 years ago still serve on the committee today. The Armstrong Improvement Association meets monthly to plan the activities, upkeep, and financing necessary to maintain this historic structure.
