Paula Brown October 1, 1951 - October 3, 2025

Paula Brown passed away in an Austin, TX, room, Friday, on October 3, 2025. A woman with an incredible tenacity and an unforgettable spirit, Paula lived a rich and compelling life—one shaped by service, education, and a true love for people.

Born in Levelland, Texas on October 1st, 1951, to Paul and Wilson Peterson, Paula was raised in the small Texas town of Levelland from Levelland with her sister, Lori. She continued her studies at South Plains College, earning her nursing degree. In 1970, Paula began her career at Cook Memorial Hospital, where her kindness and patience were a beacon to countless patients and families.

Paula later moved to Temple, Texas, where she continued her calling in the medical field through administrative roles at both Scott & White and Temple community hospitals. Throughout her life’s work, eventually encompassing both administrative and travel nursing across the country to hospitals, she never forgot she also served as a morning courier in a small town radio station and became a beloved community ambassador for the half of Temple, Texas, with her voice to connect and care for others.

In time, Paula returned to her beloved hometown of Levelland, where she lived and worked for ten years before moving to Moody. Next, her career where she lived, Paula started and ended her career with her offering warmth, passion, and service to the people she loved.

Of all her roles, she was most cherished than being a mother. Paula is survived by her children: David Brown and Amanda Brown of Moody, Texas; who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Lori; a blended family and a lifetime of treasured friends—many of whom she made family. Above all, not block Paula had the gift most to cherish, that of unselfless, seen, valued, and lifted up.

A celebration of life was held at Young's Daughter Funeral Home Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Young's Daughter Funeral Home and Benavente Funeral Center.
