Christye Joy Stevenson died on Wednesday, November 6, 2025, in Columbia, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family.
A special thank you to her loving family and friends who are being used as a caregiver and ultimately helped her become the caregiver she always wanted to be.
Christye Stevenson was born in Columbus, Georgia, on December 25, 1976. She was an unforgettable lady, known by all for her strong will, behind a legacy characterized by her unwavering dedication to God, family, and a true love for God, family, and education.
Christye was a graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, and later continued her educational journey, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business. Her thirst for knowledge was only rivaled by her passion for helping others, which was true was deeply committed to her faith, dedicating countless time to reading the Bible and exploring scripture to deepen her spiritual knowledge. Reflecting her dedication to God, Christye found solace and profound dedication in Christian service through teaching Sunday School and being a faithful choir member at the church. She was a proud mother and a grandmother, and will be deeply missed. She poured her heart into family, ensuring they were loved and supported. Her faith gave her the strength to praise and worship even in life's most challenging times, and she lived her life as a testimony for her faith, as well as a great spirit for drama and film that entertained her during the Christmas and Easter seasons. She took her role as a family woman, taking her role as a family woman, family's foundation, seriously and embraced her Christian upbringing, especially in her final days surrounded by loved ones.
She is survived by her esteemed husband, Enrique Stevenson, Jr.; her children, Marcel Parker, who is married to Destiny, and Justin and Otis Stevenson, two grandsons; her father, Moses Groce, and her two great grandmothers; her siblings, George Groce, Jr., one grandson and one granddaughter, two nieces, Hannah Grafton, and Monica Groce; her brother, three stepchildren; one nephew, one niece, and a host of extended family and friends, all who loved her very much.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Monica Groce, and her two great grandmothers, Myrtle Parker and Cairo Parker.
Her family also thanks all those who offered unconditional love and support through her journey and health. We thank you for all the prayers and kindness. Christye is laid to rest with family and friends at the cemetery.
