The Belton Tigers started their post-Christmas schedule on Dec. 29-30 at the Kaufman Tournament.

Belton finished third at the tournament.

The Tigers started the tournament against the North Forney Falcons.

Belton scored a season-high 104 points as they sprinted past the Falcons, 104-66.

The second game of pool play pitted the Tigers against the Garland Owls.

The Tigers defense held the upstart Owls in check on defense and earned a 74-55 win over Garland.

Belton earned the top seed out of pool play and took on Fort Worth Brewer.

The Bears worked past a nine-point margin and defeated the Tigers 53-48 to drop Belton to the third-place contest.

In the finale, the Tigers took on the Carrollton Creekview Mustangs.

Belton took a commanding lead midway through the second half and earned the third-place trophy with a 78-60 win over Creekview.

Daniel Briscoe earned All-Tournament honors.

After the New Year’s Day holiday, the Tigers hosted the La Grange Leopards.

The Tigers’ speed and long-distance shooting helped Belton to an 87-49 win over the visitors.

Luke Munden scored 19 points in the winning effort for Belton. Noah Childers added 14, and Briscoe chipped in ten.

“It was a great tournament, with plenty of lessons learned,” Belton head coach Phil McCaslin said. “We played hard on both sides of the floor.”
